Marangu Gate → Mandara Hut

Complete park formalities and begin through lush rainforest toward Mandara Hut.

Mandara Hut → Horombo Hut

Leave the forest and move through heath and moorland as the landscape opens toward the upper mountain.

Horombo Acclimatization Day

Use a dedicated acclimatization day around Horombo to prepare for higher altitude and the next stage of the climb.

DAY 4

Horombo Hut → Kibo Hut

Cross the high-altitude saddle toward Kibo Hut and prepare for the overnight summit attempt.

Kibo → Uhuru Peak → Horombo

Begin the summit attempt overnight, aiming for Uhuru Peak before descending toward Horombo.

The summit is the goal. A safe and well-supported mountain journey is the priority. Summit success cannot be guaranteed.

DAY 6

Horombo Hut → Marangu Gate → Arusha / Moshi

Descend through the lower mountain zones, exit the park and transfer to Arusha or Moshi.
